Stockholm Airport Train to City

Taking the train from Stockholm Airport straight to the city centre may be a great idea since you don’t have to move from the airport terminals to ride it!

Arlanda Express

It is without a doubt the fastest way to get from Stockholm Airport to the city centre. Take the Arlanda Express high-speed train and get to Stockholm city centre within 20 minutes.

Stops: Arlanda South (Terminals 2, 3 and 4), Arlanda North (Terminal 5) and Stockholm Central Station.

Opening hours: From 05:05 am to 01:05 am.

Departures are of six trains per hour on peak hours, and every 15 minutes outside peak hours.

Location

You can take the Arlanda Express train in the basement level of either Terminals 2, 3 and 4 (Arlanda South Station) and Terminal 5 (Arlanda North Station).

Fares

Adult fare for a single ticket is SEK 280.00 and SEK 540.00 for a return ticket.
Children and Youth from 8 to 25 years unaccompanied is SEK 150.00 for a single ticket and SEK 300.00 for a return ticket.

If you purchase the ticket on board you’ll be charged with a SEK 100.00 surcharge.

Passengers who gets on and off at Arlanda Central station will have to pay an access fee of SEK 120.00. The fee is not included in your ticket fare, so you’ll have to pay it at the station counter back in Sky City.

Where can I buy my ticket?

Tickets can be purchased on board, at the ticket counters at Stockholm Airport, at Arlanda Visitor Centre, at ticket office at Stockholm Central Station, at the ticket-vending machines, or if you prefer via Arlanda Express website.

Travelcard

In case you are a group of people, you can choose to pick up a Travelcard.

There are 3 kinds of multi travel cards: 10 journeys, 25 journeys and 50 journeys. See fares below:

- 10 journeys (adult): SEK 2,450
- 25 journeys (adult): SEK 5,600
- 50 journeys (adult): SEK 10,500

Commuter Trains

Another way to get to Stockholm and further destinations such as Uppsala are the SL’s commuter trains.

Total trip time from Stockholm Airport to Stockholm Central Station is of 38 minutes and to Uppsala is 18 minutes.

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday (From 06:30 am to 23:15 pm) and Sunday (From 07:00 am to 23:15 pm).

Location

Commuter Trains depart from Arlanda Central Station, located in Sky City between Terminals 4 and 5.

Fares

Adult (between 20 to 65 years old) single ticket: SEK 150.00

Passengers who gets on and off at Arlanda Central station will have to pay an access fee of SEK 120.00. The fee is not included in your ticket fare, so you’ll have to pay it at the station counter back in Sky City.

Travelcards

If you are planning to stay for a short term in Stockholm, then it would be cheaper to move by public transport with Travelcards. By the Travelcard, you will be able to travel as much as you wish by public transport during your stay.

- 72 hours: SEK 240.00

- 7 days: SEK 315.00 This option is only available with SL Access card. In case you don’t have it already, an extra SEK 20.00 fee will be charged for the card.
